Many thanks to all who took part in our competition and filled in the Enfield Island Village Questionnaire. The results are précised here.
The draw for the winners of the £50 Tesco was conducted on Wednesday 3 September. The 4 winners were selected by Mike Taylor, Manager of the RSA Island Centre, witnessed by Tony Thake, Chairman of the Residents Association and Eric Fletcher, RSA Caretaker.
Our congratulations to the winners P. Buch, S.Fletcher, M.Ahmed and R.Mitchell - gift vouchers are on the way!
If you are interested in safety and security on the Island, there will be a Neighbourhood Watch drop-in session at the community centre (opposite the NHS surgery) from 6-9pm on 18th September. Being in a Neighbourhood Watch area should increase our safety and reduce our insurance premiums
The Island
Enfield Island Village is a residential development comprising some 1314 houses/units. The development is a mix of private houses, residential flats and rented social housing, built around a central piazza and ornamental canal. The Island is situated on the North Eastern boundary of the London Borough of Enfield in picturesque surroundings being flanked by the River Lea and Lee Valley Park to the West/North West, Sewardstone Marsh and Epping Forest to the East. The Island is well equipped, having its own doctor and dentist surgery, a Tesco Express, gymnasium, pharmacy, dry cleaners, and a Chinese restaurant.
The Island has excellent rail and road links. Enfield Lock railway station is a short 10 minutes walk and provides swift and convenient access to both London (Liverpool Street) and Stansted Airport. The Island is on the 121 and 491 bus routes and is only 3 miles from the M25/J25.
The Island is a SMARTWATER Protected Area

Thieves Beware - Smartwater Technology deployed throughout the Island! Residents of the Island work in close partnership with the police and Safer Neighbourhoods Team to develop proactive crime reduction and community improvement strategies, tailored to the needs of the Island community.
